The whole composition had to revolve around this piloting framework flanked by electronics always in pursuit of this heavy, metallic aspect. The final result is massive and immersive.

Cadrage Framing

Servir un habituel plan serré de cockpit semblait absurde tant la pose mobilise tout le corps dans l'action. On se retrouve avec cette sorte de mini-salle de pilotage où tout le blanc se retrouve délibérément concentré au milieu de cet océan de gris métal.

Using a conventional tight cockpit shot felt absurd considering how much the pose engages the entire body in the action. The result is a kind of miniature piloting room where all the white is deliberately concentrated in the middle of this ocean of metallic greys.

Défis techniques Technical difficulties

La géométrie de l'arche du cockpit (la verrière) est composée de deux ellipses fusionnées, ce qui a nécessité de travailler avec de multiples points pour relier les courbes.

Le joystick et sa position furent compliqués à établir. Il a fallu construire physiquement l'objet afin de se rendre compte. (Voir la section 'making of'.)

The geometry of the cockpit arch (canopy) is composed of two merged ellipses, requiring the use of multiple center points to connect the curves.

The joystick and its position were difficult to establish. The object had to be physically built in order to properly understand it. (See the "making of" section.)
